POSITION FILLED

Early Stage Researcher of 3 years in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie
European Industrial Doctorate (EID) network EDEM

Project Title: Methodology for automatic mesh refinement; application to simulation of combustion in dual-fuel engines

Objectives: (1) To test state-of-the-art methodologies for automatic mesh refinement to generate and treat dynamic grids in computational domains resembling dual-fuel engine geometries; (2) To implement a novel methodology based on overset grids and automatic mesh refinement for efficient handling of dynamic grids with relevance to dual-fuel mixing and combustion simulations.

Host institutions:

  1. Politechico Di Milano, Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DAER), IT
  2. Perkins Engines Co Ltd, UK

The recruited ESR will spend 50% of their time to non-academic institutions according to the EID guidelines and will be enrolled in a PhD programme of the academic beneficiary partner institutions. In addition to their individual doctoral project, the recruited ESR will
benefit from a dedicated training programme comprising an integrated curriculum of local and network wide training activities related to the development of scientific knowledge and the enhancement of transferable skills.

The successful candidate will receive a financial package including mobility and family allowance (if applicable) and will be employed according to the rules for Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) funded by the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Networks (ITN).
